Promising middle distance future ahead for New Zealand bred filly Ultra consistent 3yo filly Always On Show was the beneficiary of a sparkling ride from in form jockey Craig Williams to score her first metropolitan win at Doomben. Prepared by dual state trainer Kris Lees, Always On Show was sent North to Lees’ Gold Coast stable following metropolitan placings in Sydney at her last two starts in harder grade. Always On Show has now won 2 races 8 placings from just 13 starts, with both her victories coming over 1600m. “Her full sister is Group 2 placed over 2100m in New Zealand so we have always felt that Always On Show would get out over ground,” said Ontrack’s Grant Morgan. “She has just been a bit immature mentally but is really starting to put it together now. “We think there is plenty more to come. She will spell in Queensland now she is up this way and I am sure she will furnish out during her break in ideal spelling conditions. “She’s a Magic Millions filly so you always have to think towards the races on offer here in Queensland. They are catering for horses that get over more ground now which is great,” said Morgan.
