It’s a special day today for Ontrack Thoroughbreds as our super horse Brazen Beau turns seven.
Purchased out of the Inglis Classic Sale for $70,000 by Ontrack’s Grant Morgan, Brazen Beau was the champion sprinting colt of his year winning two Group Ones at three, the Coolmore Stakes and the Newmarket Handicap at Flemington.
Later he went to Royal Ascot finishing a luckless second in the Group One Diamond Jubilee Stakes after drawing the extreme outside barrier.
“He was a special horse for so many reasons,” said Ontrack Thoroughbreds Grant Morgan.
“Beau was the horse that put champion stallion I Am Invincible on the road to fame and fortune and he changed the lives of so many people.
“In 12 lifetime starts he won five times and was second on four occasions winning $1.6 million before being sold to the breeding giant Godolphin in a multi-million dollar deal.
“Now the excitement continues as we await the first of Beau’s foals to hit the racetracks of Australia this season.
“It’s exciting to watch this very special horse write another chapter in what’s been an amazing story.
“Happy birthday Beau.”
