Good looking ex European galloper Space Tracker looked slick winning over the shorter course at Doomben to open his Australian account. Purchased from Europe with mile races in mind, Space Tracker has shown this preparation that his future racing in Australia may centre more around the 1200m journey following his impressive Doomben win. “There are lots of twists and turns with these European horses I’m finding,” said OnTrack CEO Grant Morgan. “I think in some ways you are almost better to treat them as a blank canvas when they arrive, and work out what their best pattern, distance and surface is here in Australia as they progress here.” “This prep we’ve treated Space Tracker more like a fresh 1200m-1400m horse, ridden a bit more patiently. “We aimed at the Big Dance (1600m) in his first prep but in hindsight he didn’t really see out the mile despite being a winner at that trip in the UK. “Space Tracker is enjoying the fast tempo of QLD racing and it shows the advantages of being with Annabel Neasham and having the ability to switch horses between three starts in an attempt to find the key,” said Morgan Space Tracker was purchased by OnTrack’s Grant Morgan and Blandford Bloodstock’s Stuart Boman from the 2022 Tattersalls Autumn Horses in Training Sale for 100,000 guineas. Prior to arriving in Australia, Space Tracker raced on 6 occasions winning 3 times (1400m-1600m) at Newmarket (July course), Winsor & Lingfield (all weather) Congratulations to Space Trackers ownership group: C Lambley, Hooray Hunters, G Katos, G X Ryan, Terrigal Racing Club, D A Worthley, D Carney, R A Modin, Pinehurst Racing, C Marchio, M Khoury, M J Ostermeyer, S P Hardwidge, G F Townsend, A Grigg, D J Preston, J I Hellyer, M I Mays & OnTrack Space Tracker (Syndicate) : B S Anderson, A Bailey, R J Bell, V Blanch, M Carey, Just For Fun (Just For Fun), N G Lamond, D S Paton, K Richardi, P J Stockwell, C D Tomlinson, J E Van Steenis & G J Williamson Photos by Grant Peters of Trackside Photography Comments are closed.
