Invincible Heart made it a memorable Cup day for her large group of owners by scoring at Flemington.
The Mick Price prepared filly overcame a slow start before finding the line hard late under a clever ride by stable rider Craig Newitt. Having previously been ridden on speed, Invincible Heart found a path to the better ground from a rearward position to score a fighting win. Invincible Heart ($15) triumphed by a short head from Viceroy ($13) with Spill The Beans ($2.90 fav) a further half a length away in third place. The Flemington win takes Invincible Hearts record to 3 wins, 2 placings from 6 career starts, with earnings of over $103,000. Like the year older Brazen Beau, Invincible Heart was selected and purchased by Grant Morgan of Ontrack Thoroughbreds from the Inglis Classic Sale. She was $56,000 purchase from the draft of Edinglassie Stud. Congratulations to owners David Moretti, Jim & Di McDonald, John Heming, Mick Hackett, Russell & Jacqui Pawley, Mark Ostermeyer, Maps Synd (Manager: Andrew Tranter), Invincible Five Synd (Manager: Greg Bowers), Lisa Saxton, Andrew Richmond, David Conley, Kaz Morphett, Gary Batchelder, Obes Nobodies (Manager: Gavin O’Brien), Jeremy Van Dort, Louis Van Eyssen & Warren Wruck. |
