Progressive middle distance prospect Brazen Breccia continued his development by registering another dominant win, this time on the NSW Northern Rivers circuit. Ryan Maloney made a rare appearance in the area to partner Brazen Breccia, his only ride on the eight race card. “Ryan (Maloney) is our first choice rider in Queensland being closely aligned with two of our key trainers in David Vandyke and Tony Gollan,” said Grant Morgan of OnTrack. “It was wonderful he made the effort for us to continue his association with Brazen Breccia after scoring on him last start at Ipswich. Brazen Breccia is prepared by the in-form Lauren Abbott, and Morgan was quick to heap praise on the talented horsewomen. “Lauren just lives and breathes horses. She does things differently to the bigger stables and those points of difference are what a horse like Brazen Breccia often require to unlock their talent,” said Grant Morgan. Brazen Breccia will continue his development in his coming starts as his race distances are increased out to a journey of 1800m. “There is a Class 3 over 1800m at the Gold Coast Metro meeting that we would like to get him into. It's the right time of year for him to progress to a race like that after one more start over the mile. “He looks as though he will get out in trip. He is so clean in the wind, he gives himself the chance to stay a bit. If he can, we will have a bit of fun with him as a lightly raced older horse,” said Grant Morgan.
