Consistent gelding Harada Bay posted his eight win whilst taking his prizemoney earnings to over $420,000 with another strong victory at Doomben.
Trained at Eagle Farm by John and Chris Meagher, Harada Bay was again well ridden by young jockey Luke Dittman.
Dittman partnered Harada Bay to another Doomben victory prior to his Rockhampton Cup placing.
“Luke obviously has a good affinity with Harada Bay. He is such a genuine horse and his record shows it. Whenever he draws a reasonable barrier he is always very hard to beat regardless of where the race is,” said Grant Morgan of Ontrack Thoroughbreds.
The win completed a set of scratchings leading up to the race in the bid to find the winnable race for Harada Bay.
“He drew badly in the Mackay Cup so we scratched and came home. We also had him in the South Grafton Cup but he also drew badly. Sometimes its necessary to change tact in a programme to get the right results.”
Harada Bay has now won 8 races, 9 seconds and 7 thirds with prizemoney of $420,180.
From the first crop of Haradasun, Harada Bay was an $80,000 yearling purchase by Grant Morgan of Ontrack Thoroughreds from the Magic Millions Gold Coast Yearling Sale.
Congratulation to Harada Bays owners Danny Lesjak, Rob Bennett, Jeff Allen, Dennis Walker, Kingsley Peach, Mark Snowden, Karen & Mick Sparkes, J Carr W Robinson Syndicate, Des Andrews, Tye Wagstaff and Colleen Walker.
